CellCircle at Energy Start-Up Bayern 2024
We’re thrilled to announce that our ReUse project partner, CellCircle, has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Energy Start-Up Bayern 2024 competition!
This competition, organized by Bayern Innovativ, seeks to highlight outstanding start-ups across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland that are innovating for Bayern’s sustainable energy future. The final event will take place at the Tonhalle in Munich and is expected to host over 700 attendees. Bayern’s State Minister Hubert Aiwanger will announce the three winners of the competition, each recognized as an Energy Start-up Bayern 2024.
Based in Randersacker, Germany, CellCircle has developed an innovative battery recycling process focused on the sustainable recovery of materials from lithium-ion batteries. By enabling direct reuse of critical materials, their approach reduces both CO₂ emissions and the need for raw resources, contributing to Europe’s circular economy goals.
The competition also features five other innovative start-ups, each contributing unique solutions to advance energy efficiency, sustainable materials recovery, and innovative battery technologies:
encentive – AI-driven platform optimizing industrial energy consumption to reduce costs and emissions.
Qkera – Developing safer, high-density solid-state batteries to enhance energy storage for electric vehicles.
SOLAR MATERIALS – Pioneering solar panel recycling, recovering 98% of raw materials with a drastically lower environmental impact.
SPiNE – An energy management platform on smart meter infrastructure, enabling flexible energy distribution and renewable energy optimization.
tozero – Efficient recycling of lithium-ion batteries, focusing on sustainable recovery of lithium and graphite.
We wish CellCircle and all finalists the best as they prepare to showcase their solutions for a sustainable energy future.
